Why BlackTie Brothers exists
Why we started BlackTie Brothers
Yohance Bailey and Dustin Tang-Chung started BlackTie Brothers in 2021 with a shared goal: bring beautiful wedding photography, cinematic films and real support to more couples. They wanted great work to come with people who listen, help you plan and show up prepared.
Yohance was born in Guyana, grew up in St. Lucia and later became an American national. Dustin was born and raised in Hawaii and still keeps a home there. Both have family in Florida, including retired parents.
Those roots are why the company has real connections to New York, Florida and Hawaii. They also shaped how we work: we pay attention to culture, family, personality and the people behind the timeline.
They also wanted the photo and film team to make the day itself better, not just the memories of it. That meant planning help, clear communication, practical support, photographers and filmmakers who work as one team, and a backup system for when life happens.

Family ties for both founders, plus artists on our team in Florida.
Dustin’s home. He was born and raised in Hawaii, and it is one of the three regions where we have artists.

Yohance Bailey and Dustin Tang-Chung are co-founders, owners and Wedding Experience Designers who work across photography and film. Jessah joined early in the company’s development and is one of BlackTie Brothers’ chief and lead photographers. Andrea Mills is the original Wedding Experience Director, developed the W.E.D. role and trains the W.E.D. team.
We name only these four because this isn’t an artist directory. The photographs below are here for a different reason: they show the wider group of people we trust to carry our planning, production and care into weddings.

Your assigned artists should not arrive cold.
We write down what makes your wedding yours, then brief your assigned team before the day. You can ask to speak or meet with your lead artist ahead of time. That’s there when you want it or when the wedding calls for it, but you shouldn’t have to repeat everything you’ve already told us.

The artist must be able to work within BlackTie Brothers production standards and represent the company without constant supervision.
Consistency after the wedding
Every finished story comes back through one house.
Your artist doesn’t hand you a finished product on their own. Every gallery and film comes through our editing department.
Our editors work from shared guidelines and quality checks, with your stated preferences front and center. That keeps the finish consistent without pretending every artist has the same eye.
When the unexpected happens
Your wedding should not depend on one person never getting sick, delayed or called into an emergency.
We keep backup artists ready for illness, emergencies, travel trouble and the other things nobody plans for. No honest company can promise that life will never happen. We can promise a system built to respond when it does.
If a replacement is ever needed, another qualified BlackTie Brothers artist steps in, and your wedding stays with the same company, planning notes, standards and editing process.

You can request Yohance or Dustin specifically as an optional owner-led upgrade, subject to availability. It’s a preference, not a requirement: the planning, standards, backup coverage and editing are the same either way.
The Wedding Experience Director
Support for the moments that happen between the timeline boxes.
Andrea Mills created the Wedding Experience Director role and trains the W.E.D. team. A W.E.D. adds wedding-day support and leads our media team, working alongside your planner, the venue team and your other vendors.
The role exists for the practical things: helping you stay calm, a glass of water or a snack, a reasonable wardrobe or hair touch-up, a small sewing fix, light decorating help when appropriate, and keeping communication moving so the photographers and filmmakers can stay focused on you.
W.E.D. support is available as an add-on and included with Premium coverage.

In 2021, by Yohance Bailey and Dustin Tang-Chung. The company is young; the people on it are not. Individual artists on the team may bring 15 to 20 years of their own professional experience.
Who will photograph or film our wedding?
Your team may include Yohance, Dustin or another qualified BlackTie Brothers photographer or filmmaker. We look at the kind of coverage you want, what your wedding needs and who’s available, then choose the artists who fit. You can also ask to speak with your assigned lead before the wedding.
How are BlackTie Brothers artists selected for a wedding?
We start with availability, then look at fit: your personalities, the feel you want for your photographs or film, your wedding style and traditions, cultural familiarity when it matters, venue experience when it helps, the complexity of the day, the collection you booked, the logistics and each artist’s strengths.
What must an artist demonstrate before leading a wedding?
Their creative work and how they perform at real weddings, technical and lighting skill, professional and backup equipment, communication, professionalism, how they run a timeline and family formals, how they work with other vendors, reliability, conduct, and readiness to work within our production standards.
Will our assigned team know our wedding details?
Yes. Your team gets the relevant information we have collected, which can include consultation notes, your timeline, family relationships, VIPs, traditions, must-have moments, preferences, planner and venue details, surprises and special instructions. You can also ask to speak with your assigned lead.
What happens if an assigned artist becomes unavailable?
We keep backup artists for illness, emergencies, travel disruption and other unexpected problems. A qualified BlackTie Brothers artist steps in, and your wedding stays with the same planning notes, production standards and editing process.
Who edits our photography and wedding film?
Our editing department. Every wedding comes through it, and the editors follow our editing guidelines and quality checks while keeping your stated preferences central to the finish.
What is a Wedding Experience Director?
A Wedding Experience Director, or W.E.D., helps with the practical things that can make a wedding day easier: a glass of water, a small wardrobe fix, or keeping communication moving between you and our photo and film team. Andrea Mills created the role and trains the W.E.D. team. Your W.E.D. works alongside your planner and venue coordinator, supporting our media team and helping with small problems as they come up. They don’t replace your planner or venue coordinator.
Can we request Yohance Bailey or Dustin Tang-Chung?
Yes. You can request either owner as an optional owner-led upgrade, subject to availability. You don’t need an owner on site to get our planning, standards, backup coverage or centralized editing and quality control.

We have artists and roots in New York, Florida and Hawaii, and we cover weddings nationwide. The founders’ personal and family connections are part of why those three regions feel like home ground.
