Jessica & Christian · Wedding photography

A spring wedding on the farm.

Jessica and Christian kept the whole day on the property. They got ready on site, were married in the Loft Chapel, took portraits on the lawn and celebrated in the Grand Barn Hall. The photographs below are a selection from their gallery.

The farm

Before the guests arrived: the farmhouse, white barns with green trim, a few bungalows around a fire pit and the barn hall set for dinner.

Getting ready

Everyone got ready on the property, so the morning stayed close to the ceremony and nobody had to drive anywhere in a suit.

The ceremony in the Loft Chapel

The Loft Chapel is a timber barn loft with a tall stained glass window behind the altar. Jessica and Christian were married in front of it.

Portraits under the big tree

After the ceremony, the wedding party lined up under a huge old tree on the lawn. Then Jessica and Christian took a few minutes for themselves along the fence line and back toward the farmhouse.

The venue · Jordanville, New York

A farmstead built for the whole weekend.

Knotting Hill Farm describes itself as about 70 acres in the Mohawk Valley with a 200-year-old farmhouse, a climate-controlled barn and one event at a time. Its wedding page lists three settings: the Maple Tree Lawn for outdoor ceremonies, the Loft Chapel with its stained glass windows, and the Grand Barn Hall for receptions.

Jessica and Christian used two of them: the Loft Chapel for their vows and the Grand Barn Hall for dinner and dancing. Their portraits happened outside on the lawn, under a big old tree and along the fence line.

Our planning notes

Planning photography and film at Knotting Hill Farm.

What we saw at Jessica and Christian’s wedding, what we would suggest for yours, and what the venue says about its own setup. Each card says which one it is.

01 · WHAT WE SAW

Everything happened on one property.

Getting ready, the ceremony, portraits and the reception all took place on the farm. Nobody had to drive between locations, so more of the coverage went to photographs, film and time with guests.

02 · OUR SUGGESTION

Give the stained glass its moment.

If your ceremony is in the Loft Chapel, plan a few minutes in the empty loft before guests come up, like the photograph at the top of this page. During the vows, keep the space in front of the window clear so it stays behind the two of you.

03 · FROM THE VENUE

A weekend, not just a day.

The venue describes Friday to Sunday access, on-site lodging for 30 guests and the Loft Chapel as its rain option for outdoor ceremonies. If you would like the rehearsal or a Sunday brunch photographed or filmed, ask us about adding it to your coverage.

Photography + film

One plan for both.

Jessica and Christian had photography and film from BlackTie Brothers. When you choose both, our photographers and filmmakers plan around the same timeline and the same people, so the photographs and the film tell the day together. We have artists in New York, Florida and Hawaii and cover weddings nationwide.

THE PORTRAITS

Space to be yourselves.

We give direction when it helps, then leave room for a glance, a laugh and the quieter moments between photographs. A short, useful portrait plan gives you more time with your guests.

THE SOUND

Keep the voices.

We coordinate with the officiant and DJ about microphones and audio before the important moments. Good sound gives the wedding film more than a music track.

THE TIMELINE

Cover the same day together.

Photography and film work from one coverage plan, with time for details, portraits and the celebration. Share your ceremony and reception locations so we can recommend coverage around the day you are planning.
