The venue · Downtown Syracuse
A historic hotel. A city wedding.
Marriott Syracuse Downtown is the restored Hotel Syracuse, which first opened in 1924 and reopened under its current name in 2016. The Grand Ballroom and Persian Terrace are among its historic event spaces.
Marriott describes the Grand Ballroom’s chandeliers, ceiling and mezzanine, alongside preparation spaces including the Bridal Rotunda and Groom Suite. Catie and Brad’s film shows the setting through their day: white flowers in an ornate ceremony room, the staircase and a ballroom reception.

Our planning notes
Planning photographs for a downtown Syracuse wedding.
For wedding photography and film at Marriott Syracuse Downtown, we would build the coverage plan around your rooms, your ceremony location and the time you want with your guests. These are the decisions we would work through together.
Know where the day starts.
Share where each of you will get ready and when those rooms are available. If preparation, the ceremony and reception happen in different places, leave time for travel and regrouping. A clear plan gives us room to photograph the details and the people before the ceremony.
Choose a few useful locations.
Confirm indoor portrait access with the hotel, then choose an outdoor option if your timeline and the weather allow. For a city wedding, we plan around the light, pedestrian activity and safe access. Keep the family photograph list organized so portraits do not take over the day.
Leave room for the room.
Build in a few minutes to photograph the reception space before guests enter. We also coordinate audio and lighting for the ceremony, speeches and dancing. Those preparations help the photographs and film follow the celebration with fewer interruptions.
Photography + film
One wedding. One coverage plan.
Catie and Brad had photography and film from BlackTie Brothers. We plan both around the same timeline, with room for the photographs you want and the sound and movement that make the film personal.
See the day in full.
A full gallery shows more than a handful of portraits. Look through Catie and Brad’s photographs to see the range of their day, then tell us which moments and people matter most for yours.
Keep more than the music.
The voices are part of the memory. We plan ceremony and speech audio with the people running those moments, alongside the coverage for the celebration around them.
Plan the two together.
Photography and film share the coverage plan, portrait time and important transitions. Send us your locations and schedule so we can recommend coverage that fits the wedding you are planning.
