LedgeRock Wedding
Photography & Films

A barn, a chapel in the woods and a private waterfall on 120 acres of Wyoming County countryside. Our experience at LedgeRock includes two weddings. See the venue’s own spaces, twelve photographs and a wedding film trailer from one of them, plus photography and film planning built around the spaces you actually use and the hour your celebration has to end.

A countryside estate near Buffalo

One property,
several very different rooms.

Graceful Gatherings at LedgeRock sits on 120 private acres in Orangeville, southeast of Buffalo. The venue describes a renovated 1910 barn with a multi level layout for the reception, a Chapel in the Woods for ceremonies, and further ceremony sites near the main barn and pond.

What makes it unusual for photography is the range within a short walk. Stone and stained glass at the chapel, dark warm wood inside the barn, and open water, meadow and woodland across the grounds. Each one needs a different approach to light, so we plan the order of the day around them rather than fitting them in at the end.

The spaces themselves

A chapel in the trees
and a barn that opens up.

The two rooms you will spend the day in look like this. The chapel sits alone in the woods, open sided and timber framed, with curtains that come down if the weather turns. The barn is multi level, lined in warm wood, with overhead doors that open the whole side of the room onto the countryside, and it holds a crowd well after dark.

Planning photography and film

Three things worth
deciding early.

01 · THE CURFEW SHAPES THE TIMELINE

Work backward from the end.

LedgeRock publishes an end time of 11:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays and 10:00 PM on Sundays, set by local town ordinance, with vendors clearing by midnight. That single fact drives everything else. Put the send off, the last dance and any night portraits ahead of the cut off rather than hoping for extra time.

02 · CEREMONY SITE AND TRANSPORT

Choose the site early.

The venue offers the Chapel in the Woods plus several sites near the main barn and pond, and includes a five person golf cart for moving between the Main Barn and your ceremony site. Tell us which site you have chosen so we can plan coverage, lighting and the walk between locations around it.

03 · PORTRAITS ON 120 ACRES

Budget time for the falls.

The waterfall, pond, meadows and woodlands are the reason to be here, and they are a walk from the barn. A protected block of about forty five minutes near golden hour is usually enough for the falls and the woods without pulling you away from your guests.

Wedding films at LedgeRock

Keep the sound
of the place.

A property like this one carries sound as much as light. Water at the falls, a room full of people under a barn roof, speeches that carry differently in an open air chapel. Our photographers and filmmakers work from one shared timeline so neither craft is waiting on the other.

For an open air ceremony site we recommend agreeing on microphone placement in advance, and asking the venue about power at your chosen location. The venue notes there is currently no outdoor sound system, so your DJ or band provides that.

Tia and Bob’s wedding trailer is below. It was made from the same day as the photographs on this page, by one coordinated team.

The complete work from the day

Twelve photographs cannot carry a whole wedding. Tia and Bob’s complete gallery holds the full day at LedgeRock, from the house in the morning through the chapel, the barn and the falls. Their engagement session gallery is here too, photographed away from the venue. Both galleries ask for an email address before they open.

LedgeRock wedding questions

A few things to know.

Where is Graceful Gatherings at LedgeRock?

The venue is at 2300 Gassman Rd, Varysburg, New York 14167, on 120 private acres in Orangeville, Wyoming County, southeast of Buffalo. Tours are by appointment. Confirm directions, parking and arrival arrangements directly with the venue.

Where can the ceremony and reception happen?

LedgeRock lists several indoor and outdoor ceremony sites, including the Chapel in the Woods and locations near the main barn and pond. The reception is primarily held in the renovated 1910 barn, which has a multi level layout. Confirm current spaces and layouts with the venue.

What time does a wedding there have to end?

The venue states that events conclude at 11:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays and 10:00 PM on Sundays because of local town ordinances, with vendors and cleanup crews clearing by midnight. We build the photography and film timeline backward from that end time.

Can we do a sparkler exit?

No. LedgeRock does not permit open flames of any kind, cold sparks, fog machines, confetti, glitter or helium balloons. Bubbles work beautifully there and photograph well at night, which is what the couple on this page chose.

Is there somewhere to get ready on site?

The venue provides a Bridal Suite inside the on site house and a Groom’s Lounge on the lower level of the barn, with access from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on the day of the event. The house sleeps 6 and the guest house sleeps 10 to 12. Confirm current access windows with the venue.

Has BlackTie Brothers photographed weddings at LedgeRock?

Yes. Our experience here includes two weddings. The photographs and the film on this page are from one of them, covered by one coordinated photography and film team. The complete gallery from that day is linked above.
