The Orchards sits in Jamesville, near Syracuse. Its timber-frame barn and exposed beams bring a rustic character to the celebration, with countryside just outside. The venue describes ceremony options beside the pond, between birch trees, in the orchard and among the pines.

Our planning recommendations
Plan for the photographs—and the time together.
A good plan gives the moments you care about enough space. These are the details we’d work through with you for photo and film coverage at The Orchards.
Give the countryside room in your timeline.
Choose a few portrait settings that matter most to you, then allow time to move between them. The venue lists remote portraits and animal photographs as additional options. Confirm the locations, timing, transport and access for your photo and film team directly with the venue before adding them to your schedule. We’ll plan a realistic route that leaves time with your guests.
Decide where the morning begins.
The venue lists an upstairs bridal suite and an optional groom’s cabin. Confirm which spaces you have reserved and when everyone can enter them. If part of your wedding party gets ready at a hotel, include travel and an arrival buffer in the plan. We can help you choose coverage that follows both parts of the morning.
Make space for the words.
If private vows matter to you, give them dedicated time and a quieter location. We’ll coordinate photography, film and audio around the moment, then plan ceremony and speech coverage with the people handling the sound.
Keep some flexibility for the light.
Plan the essential portraits earlier, then leave room for a brief evening session if conditions cooperate. Seasonal daylight, cloud cover and your reception schedule all affect that choice. Your photographs should fit the celebration, with time left to enjoy it.

Ask the venue where your ceremony and portraits would move, when the weather decision is made and how the reception layout affects available space. Share that plan with us so the photo and film schedule can adapt with it.

Share your floor plan and timing for entrances, dances and speeches with us. We’ll coordinate camera positions, lighting and audio with the people running the reception, so the coverage includes both you and the people celebrating with you.
