The Riverdale · Three weddings
One hall, three very different weddings.
Laura and Dante were married on site in August, with a ceremony between the arched alcoves and a reception full of pink roses and one big surprise. Alice and Mitchell were married at St. James Parish in Johnson City in September, then came to The Riverdale for a candlelit black-and-gold reception and a champagne tower. Christina and Erick were married here in November, under a floral arch, with blush lighting and a highlight film.

Laura + Dante
August 30 · Ceremony and reception
A summer ceremony and a reception with a surprise.
Laura and Dante kept their whole wedding at The Riverdale. Laura got ready in the bridal suite, the ceremony was in the room with the arched alcoves, and the reception moved into the ballroom for dinner, dancing and a crew nobody could miss. Their coverage included photography and film; their film is not part of this page.
Getting ready and the ceremony
Gray wingback chairs and a white couch in the bridal suite, then gold chairs along an aisle trimmed with tulle and lanterns.
The reception
Gold chiavari chairs, a sweetheart table under a pink draped arch, a naked cake with fresh berries and a cocktail hour with a serious shrimp situation. Then the green masks showed up.
These photographs are a small selection. Their complete gallery follows the whole day, from getting ready to the last dance.
Alice + Mitchell
September 27 · Reception · Photography
A church ceremony, then candlelight.
Alice and Mitchell were married at St. James Parish in Johnson City, then brought everyone to The Riverdale for the reception. Their coverage was photography only, over a long day that ended outside under the lit Riverdale sign.
Their ceremony took place at St. James Parish, not at The Riverdale, so this section starts with the reception.
Before the doors open
A quiet minute alone with the candlelit room, and a few more in the bridal suite.
The reception
Black linens, gold chargers, red roses and candles everywhere, with a black backdrop behind the dance floor.
After dark
A change of outfits, a bottle of champagne and the Riverdale sign doing the rest.
Their complete gallery follows the whole day, including the ceremony at St. James Parish.
Christina + Erick
November 11 · Ceremony and reception · Photography + film
A November wedding under a floral arch.
Christina and Erick were married at The Riverdale in November, with the ceremony and the reception both on site. We photographed and filmed their day, and their highlight film is just below.
The ceremony
A floral arch draped in blush fabric. Their first kiss under it is the poster for their film below.
The reception
Blush drapes behind the head table, candles and roses on every table, and a dance floor washed in purple.
Their complete gallery covers the ceremony, the reception and the details in between.
Christina + Erick · Film
Their day, in motion.

Our planning notes
Planning photography at The Riverdale.
What we saw at these three weddings and what we would suggest for yours. Each card says which one it is. The venue’s own details are in the next section.
Ceremony and reception under one roof.
Laura and Dante, and Christina and Erick, were married on site and walked straight into their receptions. No driving between locations means more time for portraits and less time in the car.
The same ballroom, three different looks.
Pink drapes and white light for Laura and Dante, black linens and candlelight for Alice and Mitchell, blush and purple uplighting for Christina and Erick. Lighting and linens change this room more than anything else.
Use the bridal suite for portraits too.
The suite’s white couch and gray chairs are bright and clean. Laura’s and Alice’s galleries both include relaxed portraits there, not just getting-ready photographs.
See the room before the doors open.
Alice and Mitchell took a minute alone with their candlelit room before guests came in. It gave us photographs of the room without people in them, and it gave them a quiet moment.
Step outside after dark.
The Riverdale sign and the entrance light up at night. Ten minutes outside after dinner gave Alice and Mitchell some of the most striking photographs in this guide.
Church first works too.
Alice and Mitchell were married at St. James Parish in Johnson City before the reception. If your ceremony is somewhere else, share both addresses with us so we can plan the drive and your coverage hours.
Photography, film or both
Coverage that fits your day.
Christina and Erick had photography and film, and so did Laura and Dante. Alice and Mitchell chose photography. Either way, we plan around your timeline, your people and the rooms you are using at The Riverdale. We have artists in New York, Florida and Hawaii and photograph and film weddings nationwide.
Direction when it helps.
We guide you into a good spot and good light, then leave room for the laugh between the posed frames. A short portrait plan gives you more time with your guests.
A list, a helper and a place.
Send us your family groupings ahead of time and choose one or two people who know everyone. We will pick the spot at The Riverdale with you before the day.
One team for both.
If you add film, our photographers and filmmakers work from the same plan. Christina and Erick’s film on this page is one example; there are more in our portfolio.

The Riverdale wedding questions
A few things couples ask.
Have you photographed weddings at The Riverdale?
Yes, three of them. We photographed Laura and Dante’s wedding on August 30, with the ceremony and reception on site; Alice and Mitchell’s reception on September 27, after their ceremony at St. James Parish in Johnson City; and Christina and Erick’s wedding on November 11, which we also filmed. Every photograph on this page comes from those three days.
Can you have the ceremony at The Riverdale?
Yes. Two of our three couples were married on site, in a room lined with white arched alcoves, with gold chairs on both sides of the aisle. Ask the venue about ceremony options for your guest count and date.
Is there a bridal suite at The Riverdale?
Yes. The venue lists a bridal suite, and both Laura and Alice used it. It is bright, with a white couch and gray wingback chairs, and it works for portraits as well as getting ready.
Where are the best photo spots at The Riverdale?
The bridal suite, the chandelier in the entry, a pair of dark doors with glowing rings of light, the arched alcoves in the ceremony room, the ballroom dance floor and, after dark, the lit Riverdale sign outside. We plan a short portrait route with you before the day.
Can we see complete galleries from The Riverdale?
Absolutely. All three couples’ full galleries are linked on this page, and Christina and Erick’s highlight film plays above. It is the best way to see how we cover a whole day there.
Do you offer photography and film together at The Riverdale?
Yes. You can book photography, film or both, planned by one team. Christina and Erick, and Laura and Dante, had photography and film, and Alice and Mitchell chose photography. Send us your date to check availability, and see current collections on our pricing page.
