Turning Stone gives couples several places to get ready, hold a ceremony, take portraits, celebrate, and stay overnight. Because the resort is large, the timeline should still include time to move between spaces.

We choose portrait locations with the couple before the wedding and keep the list focused. Two or three planned stops usually give the day variety without pulling everyone away from the celebration for too long.

A July wedding · The Lodge and Shenandoah

Red roses, white jackets and golden hour on the Shenandoah lawn

Vanessa and Trevor said their vows at five on the Great Lawn at The Lodge, then moved to the Shenandoah Clubhouse for cocktail hour and the reception. The dress code was black tie optional. Trevor chose a white dinner jacket, and a couple of very small gentlemen matched him.

Grand Ballroom

The resort lists seating for up to 1,280 guests. For a large reception, confirm when the room will be fully set and when vendors can enter.

Great Lawn

The Great Lawn is listed for up to 650 guests. Ask about the current rain plan, power, sound, and any lodging commitment tied to the space.

Shenendoah and smaller rooms

The Shenendoah private patio, Navajo Ballroom, and Grand Expo Courtyard offer additional indoor and outdoor options for smaller guest lists.
